Are you π π πΌ πΏ π??? Your dream hair is waiting for you!
I talk a lot about many of the typical hair extensions questions on my instagram @styledxmelissa. Everything featured here, I also discuss in our consultation and/or during extensions application and re-application appointments, but sometimes things go overlooked, or if you’re a lurker {and I don’t mean that in a bad way} trying to get some information before taking the plunge into an extensions journey, you might be asking some of these same questions.
I always tell my guests that I’m not a method extensions stylist. What that means is I don’t ‘do’ Bellami, JZ, Easihair, Habit, etc… extensions. I am certified in almost every extensions brand out there, and I always found that I loved parts of the methods from different companies, but I struggled to find one method that worked for all of my guests.
Honestly, for as long as I’ve been doing extensions, I’ve never had anyone ask me for a specific type of extensions method. Rather, my guests ask about the types: tapes, tips, sew-ins, and are concerned with things like:
βοΈ Will my natural hair become/remain healthy?
βοΈ I won’t have hair loss, right?!
βοΈ Can I lead my normal, active life?
The list of questions goes on, but the main concerns are healthy hair and scalp and their dream look.

The title says method, but if I’m saying I’m not a method-specific extensions specialist, then what am I saying?
While I do offer a ‘method’ it is not specific to any one brand of extensions and follows a sew-in foundational application. More importantly, I use a strategy-based application based off fundamentals of sew-in extensions application and science principles of hair and scalp that are geared for an individualized experience. Yes, I do execute a concealed bead sew-in method, but it is based on my individual guest’s hair and scalp needs and hair goals. It’s not a one-size fits all.

Concealed, or hidden bead sew-in extensions hide the beads for a customized set of extensions that are the most natural looking, comfortable, and are tailored to your individual needs. Each set can be hand painted to ensure a seamless blend with your natural hair or we color match, for a non-chemical service. We can add one color to match your hair, or blend colors to create a ‘balay-add’ service. I consider the strategies I employ to be the healthiest hair extensions option because of minimal points of attachments to your natural hair. A balay-add service allows us to add color without the chemicals.

Yes, everyone can wear a hidden bead sew-in, and itβs amazing for my fine haired friends, but knowing how to apply the foundational principles of extensions and adjusting them for each guests needs is what drove me to offering solely a sew-in method.
Remember I said not a single guest asked for any one brand specific method of extensions? None of my clients could care less about what the method is, and unless I told them what method I was using, they had no idea and only wanted results that equated to great hair and a great experience. Making hair dreams come true is my passion but maintaining the health and integrity of your natural hair is equally important.
